Doyle_Anderson_Photo_100_pixelsDr. Doyle Anderson is the 9th President of the First Nations University of Canada. Dr. Anderson is a member of the Red Pheasant First Nation and the founding Executive Director of the Indigenous Nations Institute at Idaho State University. Doyle is also the founder and Director of the Native American Business Administration Program at Idaho State University.

He completed his doctorate degree in interdisciplinary studies with a dual emphasis in First Nations business management and organizational analysis at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed the First Nations MBA Program at the University of Saskatchewan and holds a B.Sc. in environmental engineering.

His experience includes Native American business and renewable energy education, Native American natural resource development, environmental engineering, engineering management, entrepreneurship, military leadership, academic program development, and fundraising. Doyle worked as an environmental engineer, project manager, and engineering manager for Raytheon at the Nevada Test Site. He held the highest security clearance levels for both the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Energy during his tenure with the military and with the nuclear weapons program at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Dr. Anderson served as a faculty member in the School of Business and Public Administration and Director of the Certificate in Indigenous Business Administration Program at the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College. He also built and operated an environmental engineering and natural resource development consulting practice serving First Nations in western Canada for nine years.

Doyle and his wife, Pauline, have been married for 25 years and are the parents of three daughters and three sons.

“I was not inclined to do it at first because of the important work I was doing in the US. But the more I thought about the opportunity the more I thought it would be a good idea. The FNUniv is a place that has changed my life and allowed me to do what I love to do. By taking on leadership of the university I could help it revitalize and grow.”
