Attendance and Evaluation

Attendance

First Nations University of Canada expects all students to attend classes regularly. Missing classes or arriving late can affect your chance for success.

If you are persistently late or absent from class, you may be penalized if it affects other students, either because of disruptions or when you are part of a group project. You may be dropped from the class or prevented from taking the final exam.

Evaluation

The final mark reflects your performance in a class. Performance is evaluated through a combination of term work and final exams.

Term work refers to all the assignments and tests conducted during the semester. Attendance and your level of participation in class discussion may also count as part of the term work.

Final exams are held after the end of the course work. Not every class has a final exam. The class outline should tell you if there is one.

The percentage of the final mark determined by term work and the final exam varies from class to class. Usually, the instructor will include the percentages as part of the class outline.
