Job Role:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Officer is responsible for daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes and procedures, managing these within established deadlines. This position is responsible for the preparation of journal entries and financial schedules, and acts as a primary resource for other department managers for general accounting and finance related inquiries. Responds to accounting and finance related inquiries. Provides coaching and assistance and contributes to problem solving as needed by department. Prepares invoices, and coordinates billing with different operational departments. Manages accounts receivable, including following up on outstanding receivables and receiving physical and electronic payments. Responsible for accounts payable processes in the absence of the Accounts Payable Clerk. This includes ensuring adherence to signing authorities and payment policies. Reports and remits withheld taxes monthly, as well as files nonresident tax forms annually. Calculates the revenue for each show held in the Show Lounge, charging to the applicable account. Verifies the sales data, prepares the invoice or statement as required for events held at the Casino, and prepares the journal entries. Receives notification of possible errors in the general ledger, investigates, and prepares the adjusting journal entries. Also prepares other recurring monthly and annual journal entries. Prepares journal entries for poker tournaments and maintains related tracking sheets. Reconciles payroll benefit and other balance sheet accounts monthly, investigating discrepancies, and following up with the Assistant Controller. Maintains prepaid, accrual, and other schedules. Prepares the bank deposits and completes the jackpot transfers.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Accounting or related field. A minimum of three to six years’ related work experience representing continuous learning is required. An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.

Work Eligibility:
