Prevention Interagency Administrative Coordinator
Big Island Lake Cree Nation (BILCN) is strongly committed to building a comprehensive Prevention and Protection program to keep BILCN children and youth connected to their families, community and culture. We are currently looking to hire a community-based Prevention Interagency Administrative Coordinator who will support the Prevention program by providing high‑level administration, coordination, and relationship‑building functions that strengthen wrap‑around services for children, families, and the community. This role actively ensures smooth communication and collaboration between BILCN agencies, including Health, Education, Housing, Income and Social Assistance, and other service areas.
What are the functions of the job?
The Prevention Interagency Administrative Coordinator will organize meetings and tasks to bring all appropriate BILCN agencies and departments together on a regular basis and strengthen collaboration and services for a coordinated set of supports to address needs of children, youth and families with the following key responsibilities:
Build relationships and knowledge of the roles, services and processes of the other BILCN agencies to foster and strengthen awareness, interagency cooperation, collaboration, problem-solving and shared responsibility across the service areas for supporting children and families.
Schedule and organize monthly interagency meetings with all relevant BILCN departments that provide wrap-around services to BILCN children and families.
Take detailed and accurate meeting minutes.
Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and perform other administrative or coordination duties as assigned by the Prevention Director.
Assist in planning, organizing, and participating in Prevention program events, workshops, and community activities.

The successful candidate must have strong organizational and administrative skills who can build trusting and lasting relationships. Other required knowledge and capabilities include:
-Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
-Ability to take clear, accurate, and comprehensive meeting minutes;
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and general office technology;
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
-Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks and competing priorities with short timelines;
-Exceptionally strong attention to detail in all aspects of work and ability to effectively track and follow-up on detailed tasks and actions;
-Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity when working with personal or family information;
-Knowledge of Indigenous culture, values, community dynamics and community wellness.
Typically, the knowledge and capabilities required to be successful in this role is achieved through the following:
-Diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field;
-A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or executive assistant role, preferably in a community‑based, Indigenous, or social services environment; OR
-An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Other factors to be successful in this role include:
· Work location: Big Island Lake Cree Nation Band Office near Pierceland, Saskatchewan. Therefore, the ability to live at, or near, Big Island Lake Cree Nation is essential.
· Flexible hours of work: typical office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, however, this role may be required to work some evenings and weekends. Flexibility will be provided in consideration of these work requirements.
· Travel requirements: travel may be required to help with Prevention events. Therefore, a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
· A successful criminal record check will need to be provided.
