Position: Employment Specialist – Yorkton Branch
Employment type: Temporary .8 FTE position (maternity leave 12 month term), tentative start date May 11, 2026
(Working 30 hours/week: 7.5-hour shifts within varied days/evenings schedule)
Closing date: April 13, 2026
Duties and responsibilities:
Do you like meeting new people? Are you a strong communicator? Do you believe everyone can be a valuable contributor to the labour market? We are looking for a new member of our Employment Services Team with a can-do attitude who will find and develop paid jobs for people with varying abilities.

Duties:

Meet with referred clients and support systems to identify needs and strengths to develop Action Plans

Assist clients in the development of a resume, cover letter, and interview skills

Develop paid employment positions and work with employment partners to develop job customizations

Provide early stage on-site job coaching ongoing check-ins with clients and employers to maintain employment
All duties will be performed in Yorkton and surrounding rural area within an approximate 150 km radius.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in the human service field or equivalent professional designation with experience

Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle to transport

Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or obtain within three months
Experience:

Ability to formulate written and verbal ideas / information in a clear concise manner

Ability to work co-operatively with consumers, employers, referral agents, colleagues, public contacts

Knowledge of local labour markets and community resources

Knowledge of and practice of cultural sensitivities

Knowledge & understanding of individuals with disabilities

Ability to work cooperatively with care partners and referral sources
Skills:

Knowledge and ability to work with individuals with multiple barriers to employment

Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Computer literacy with Microsoft suite of programs with knowledge of databases and file recording
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
