Reporting to the school principal the teacher will be responsible for instructing students by creating Unit plan, lesson plans, instructing students and to create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.
Duties and Responsibilities
•
Establish classroom management plans, observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
•
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
•
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as cooperative learning, discussions, demonstrations, etc.
•
Establish clear outcomes for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those outcomes to students.
•
Be knowledgeable about administration policies and rules governing students (student/school safety handbooks).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Candidates should be passionate about teaching and have a love for the students.
• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate
effectively and respectfully with staff and students and service providers.
Teachers
• Collaborates well with colleagues on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment and instructional strategies.
• Promotes the use of multiple methods in solving problems, identifying more
efficient strategies and generalizing principles to a broad variety of applications.
• Encourages collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to
communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning and to considers
multiple perspectives when solving problems.
• Invests in the life of the school by participating in the Land-based and culture
program, participate in cultural activities in the community.
• Demonstrated professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity
Follow Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics as per MNEA Education Authority Policies and Administrative Procedures.
Valid Driver’s License, CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
