Position: The Youth Home Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Eagle Heart Centre’s Youth Home. Under the direction of the Youth Home Team Lead, this position ensures that youth schedules, appointments, and daily activities are well-coordinated and that communication between staff, youth, and external partners remains consistent and efficient. The Youth Home Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for youth needs, managing the flow of information regarding school attendance, appointments, and program participation. They ensure all staff are aware of youth placements, schedules, and routines each day, promoting stability and structure within the home. The Youth Home Coordinator ensures that daily operations run smoothly, documentation is accurate, and staff remain informed. This role reflects Eagle Heart Centre’s commitment to cultural safety, trauma-informed care, and Indigenous worldviews, ensuring every youth experiences a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Education: Post-secondary education in Human Services, Youth Care, or related field (or combination of education and experience). Two (2) years of experience in youth work, residential care, or administrative coordination within a human services or Indigenous organization.

Qualifications:

Commitment to EHC’s mission, vision, and values; culturally competent practice and understanding of Indigenous community needs.

Strong organizational, scheduling, and multitasking skills.

Knowledge of child development, mental health, addictions, domestic violence, and systemic challenges facing youth.

Strong problem-solving, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills.

Effective communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.

Time management, organizational skills, and accountability for caseload and deadlines.

Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a residential team environment.

Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability in meeting program needs.

Physical capacity to perform job requirements (sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, driving, carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs).

Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and strength-based approaches.

Strong administrative, scheduling, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.

Understanding of Indigenous cultures, community contexts, and the impacts of colonization on youth and families.

Current CPR/First Aid Certification and clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
