From August 27 to 29, 2025, the First Nations University of Canada welcomed new and returning students across its Saskatoon, Regina, and Northern campuses with a series of orientation events.
The goal of the orientation is to connect students to the campus environment and provide them with valuable resources, setting the tone for a strong and engaging start to the semester.
The Saskatoon Campus kicked off the event on Wednesday with a strong turnout, starting with a traditional pipe ceremony and welcome remarks. Students met with faculty, explored university resources, and concluded the day with campus tours and prize giveaways.
At the Regina Campus on Thursday, orientation was filled with interactive and engaging activities, including an Amazing Race–style challenge that had students working together to explore campus, learn about supports, and connect in a fun, team-based way. Along with welcome remarks, opportunities to meet faculty, and information sessions, the event concluded with a special announcement and prize draws, leaving students energized for the semester.
On Friday morning, a pipe ceremony at the Northern Campus marked the start of the day. Students, faculty, and staff then gathered at the E.A Rawlinson Centre afterwards. The Northern Campus staff offered a warm welcome to students, focusing on community building with welcome remarks before connecting them with faculty, exploring academic programs, and engaging in campus activities. The event wrapped up with a campus tour and prizes, providing students with a solid foundation.
FNUniv extends its gratitude to the Student Success Services team for their hard work in planning and organizing orientation events across all campuses. A special thank-you also goes to the faculty and staff whose participation and support ensured students felt welcomed and prepared for their FNUniv journey.
Classes officially start on September 2, 2025.
