First Nations University of Canada and KPMG are presenting a Tax Clinic for Elders on March 25, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm (CST).

KPMG presenters Sarah Tkachuk and Kathy Chin will provide information on the different types of income that you may receive as an Indigenous Elder, and how these types of income are treated for Canadian tax purposes. This includes:

• OAS amounts
• CPP amounts
• Exempt income
• 2020 amounts received directly from Band/Nation
• Pensions and pension splitting
• Transfers on death
• Tax considerations when claiming dependents who are grandchildren or other relatives
