First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) was honoured to be the presenting sponsor of the 2025 Northern Saskatchewan Football League (NSFL) Jamboree—an event that brought young athletes together from across the region to celebrate sport, community, and personal growth.
Held at the nēwoskan Traditional Campus and Alfred Jenkins Field House in Prince Albert, the Jamboree showcased more than just athletic talent. It became a powerful reminder of how sport can connect youth to culture, community, and confidence. As an institution committed to empowering Indigenous learners, FNUniv proudly supports initiatives that create space for youth to feel seen, supported, and inspired.
Throughout the event, participants received hands-on coaching, encouragement, and mentorship from a dedicated team of leaders—including Saskatchewan Roughriders alumnus Dan Clark. His presence, along with the energy of every coach and volunteer, helped create an environment of inclusion, respect, and motivation. Their commitment went beyond sport, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose in every athlete.
For FNUniv, supporting the Jamboree aligns with our mission to uplift Indigenous youth and communities through education, culture, and leadership. Sport is one of many pathways through which young people develop essential life skills, build relationships, and dream big.
We extend our gratitude to the NSFL organizers, volunteers, community partners, and most of all, the youth who brought their whole hearts to the field. Your energy and determination remind us why we do this work—and why it matters.
FNUniv looks forward to continuing our support for youth-centered programming that celebrates Indigenous excellence both on and off the field.
