Syllabics
Over the past two years, some Indigenous Studies courses have integrated art, emphasizing Indigenous identity. These studies focus on understanding who you are and your origins, which are crucial to self and belonging. The course assignments involved three parts: a) writing a few paragraphs about your cultural heritage and mentioning your grandparent(s); b) creating an artwork that reflects your identity in relation to your writing; and c) delivering a presentation to the class.
There were many outstanding artworks from students across various Indigenous Studies courses. Here are three pieces of art from all three campuses.

During the 2026 Fall Semester, student artworks from the 2026 Winter Semester INDG ST classes will be showcased across all three campuses.
We have exciting news to share. As part of a collaboration between First Nations University of Canada and Wanuskewin in Saskatoon, SK, student art pieces will be showcased in October. Stay tuned for more details.
