Assistant, CNIB Outdoor Recreation Programs
Full-Time, Temporary (Canada Summer Jobs)
Location: Regina, SK
Reports To: Manager, Programs and Operations SK
I. Essential Functions
The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:
Provides information to the residents of Saskatchewan regarding programming for people with sight loss, blind or deafblind.
Assists with the planning and implementation of outdoor recreation programs for participants and special events.
Travels across the province with CNIB’s Tandem Bike program providing opportunities for the sight loss community to experience the passion for sport and recreation activities.
Assists and provides guidance for individuals participating in CNIB programming.
Tracks attendance of program participants.
Execute invitation calls and follow-up calls to participants.
Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations including answering calls and responding to in-person inquiries involving client service, special events and programming.
Performs general administrative duties as required.
Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
II. Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Experience working with the public
University or community college student preferred
Related Fields of Study include social services, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service or equivalent work experience
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
Experience hauling a trailer
Clear class 5 drivers abstract
Work Environment
This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:
