On June 27, 2026, FNUniv and the Clearwater River Dene Nation celebrated 13 graduates who have completed their Bachelor of Indigenous Education – Dene Immersion Program through the First Nations University of Canada’s Community-Based Program.
The community held a graduation celebration in La Loche, Saskatchewan, where the graduates were recognized and honoured as they reached this important milestone in their lives. Family members, FNUniv staff, and community members gathered to celebrate.
This is a tremendous achievement that represents years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and commitment to education and to their community. These graduates have not only earned their degrees, but have also strengthened their connection to Dene language, culture, identity, and ways of knowing. Their journey inspires their families, their community, and future generations of Dene educators.
We are so proud of you! Your community is proud, and we are proud to have been part of your journey.
