Delegation from the Lower Austrian State Parliament Explore FNUniv

July 22, 2026

The Regina Campus had the distinct honour of hosting a delegation from the Lower Austrian State Parliament, along with representatives from the City of Saskatoon, on July 21, 2026. This visit focused on exploring FNUniv and the educational opportunities we provide.

For some delegates, this marked their first visit to Canada and Regina. The visit sparked a dialogue about our institution, including our academic programs, student services, and our commitment to Indigenous-led education. Dr. Bettina Schneider, Associate Dean of Academic, delivered a presentation detailing who we are at FNUniv, which prompted further inquiries regarding education costs, particularly since education is generally free for Austrian citizens. Vice-President Academic Dr. Ramona Neckoway and the Registrar’s Office provided additional insights into tuition and services and emphasized the significance of language reclamation for our University.

Interactions of this nature provide significant opportunities to enhance international relationships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and showcase the vital role FNUniv plays in promoting Indigenous education, research, and community engagement.

We want to express our gratitude to the Austrian delegation and Saskatoon representatives for visiting our campus. Hosting you at FNUniv was a valuable experience, and we are optimistic about exploring future opportunities for collaboration and connection. Your insights and perspectives will greatly enhance our efforts moving forward.
