Dene Teacher Education Program (DTEP) featured in Partnership for Success Story

January 5, 2021

The Spring Graduation Celebration in June 2020 welcomed the first 19 graduates of the Dene Teacher Education Program (DTEP) with a Bachelor of Education – Indigenous Education Degree. Most recently, two (2) more graduates were awarded their degrees during the Fall Graduation Celebration in October 2020.

Students of the program have a unique quality in which they can carry forward in their educational careers – the capacity to speak the Dene language, read in the Dene language, teach in the Dene language and have learned the traditional land-based knowledge to share with their students.

In mid-December 2020, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Government Relations highlighted the Dene Teacher Education Program (DTEP) and the graduates in their Partnership for Success Profile.
