FNUniv Alumnus to Present at the 2026 National Gathering of Graduate Students (NGGS)

Nathaniel Cook, an FNUniv alumnus and a Master’s student at the University of Regina, has been selected to attend and present at the 2026 National Gathering of Graduate Students (NGGS), taking place November 24-26 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario. The gathering is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health. It is co-hosted by the Shkaakaamikwe gchi twaa miigwewin – Mother Earth’s Gifts Ontario Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (ON NEIHR) and the NEIHR National Coordinating Centre.

The national gathering will bring together Indigenous graduate students from across the country for several days of events, including research presentations, workshops, cultural activities, and more.

Nathaniel is currently working on the research project “Comparative Analysis of Birth and Death Time Series in First Nations and Other Communities of Canadian Provinces and the Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Them,” led by Drs. Carrie LaVallie and Arzu Sardarli.
