First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) is proud to share that Alyssa Rowley and Shanelle Pechawis, students in the Indigenous Social Work program, have been selected to serve on the 2025-26 Saskatchewan Post-Secondary Student Council. Their selection was officially announced on January 27, 2026, by the provincial Ministry of Advanced Education, recognizing students from across Saskatchewan who will help share perspectives and inform conservations about post-secondary education in the province.
The Saskatchewan Post-Secondary Student Council brings together students from a variety of institutions, programs, and communities to provide insight into the student experience and help shape initiatives that support learners across Saskatchewan. Through this role, councils members have the opportunity to contribute their perspectives and advocate for the needs and priorities of students throughout the province.
FNUniv is proud to see Shanelle and Alyssa representing both the university and Indigenous students in this important space. Their involvement reflects the leadership, commitment, and diverse voices of FNUniv students, and highlights the important role students play in shaping the future of post-secondary education.
