FNUniv Welcomed Visitors from the Wollotuka Institute, University of Newcastle

On July 20, 2026, the Saskatoon Campus welcomed an Australian delegation from the Wollotuka Institute at the University of Newcastle to First Nations University of Canada for an inspiring day of learning, collaboration, and relationship-building.

Dr. Ramona Neckoway, VP Academic, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to meet and discuss future partnerships in Indigenous education, research, global Indigenous men’s health and well-being, and the recognition of Indigenous war veterans. These important conversations highlighted the value of sharing knowledge and strengthening connections among Indigenous peoples worldwide.

A special highlight was watching the film Returning a First Nations WWI Hero Home — Yaluu (See You Again) | Compass, featuring Joe Flick, whose work honours the stories and sacrifices of Aboriginal soldiers and helps reconnect families with their loved ones’ histories.
