South African Delegation Visited the Saskatoon Campus

On July 24, 2026, Senior Management, faculty, and staff were honoured to welcome a delegation from South Africa to the First Nations University of Canada – Saskatoon Campus for a meaningful day of connection, collaboration, and shared learning.

It was a privilege to host Sikhonzile Sikhosana from the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation and Mokgadi Rabothata, Director of Global Partnerships with the Department of Higher Education and Training, South Africa.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit First Nations University of Canada’s nēwoskan Traditional Campus, where they experienced the beauty and significance of this important learning space rooted in Indigenous knowledge and culture.

This visit created valuable opportunities to discuss science, innovation, education, research, collaboration, and future planning, while strengthening relationships and sharing Indigenous perspectives from Canada and South Africa. It was a fantastic opportunity for our community to connect with diverse experiences from around the world and learn from one another.

We were also honoured to have Dr. Ramona Neckoway, Vice-President, Academic, and Dr. Jessica Kolopenuk, Associate Vice-President, Health and Research, join us in welcoming our guests and participating in these important conversations.
