The annual powwow is a significant and esteemed event in Saskatchewan’s cultural
calendar. Established nearly 50 years ago by a visionary group of SIFC students, this
powwow continues to thrive thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our
students, alumni, and FNUniv staff.
Known throughout Canada and the United States, our powwow stands as a premier
celebration of the spring season, drawing dancers and singers eager to share their
remarkable talents. We welcome everyone to Regina, Saskatchewan, for this enriching
experience, which features not only the involvement of dancers, singers, veterans,
and Elders but also the engagement of the broader community.
Over the course of two exhilarating days, you will witness grand entries, dynamic
dance competitions for all ages, a singing competition, and an array of exciting dance
specials. One of the highlights will be the reigning Miss FNUniv, who will host an
outgoing dance special as she prepares to pass the crown to the new 2026 Miss
FNUniv Ambassador. Beyond the powwow, you’ll have the chance to explore the
Indigenous Tradeshow and indulge in a selection of Indigenous foods.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with and celebrate the richness of our culture—join
us for this extraordinary event, embracing the spirit of inclusivity and respect!
Stay connected and follow us on social media for dance specials, announcements, and more as we count down to the powwow weekend!
