The Indigenous Social Work program is a leading program at FNUniv, and we continue to see the highest number of graduates twice per year during graduation. As a student of FNUniv’s Indigenous Social Work program, you’ll develop skills and gain knowledge founded upon Indigenous cultures, values, and philosophies to work effectively in all settings. The focus is to enhance the strengths of Indigenous individuals, families, groups, and communities, supporting self-determination.

Our diploma and degree programs prepare you to enter the human service field as a social worker across Canada, with a particular emphasis on working with Indigenous individuals, families, groups, and communities. The Indigenous Social Work programs are nationally accredited through the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE).

Indigenous spirituality, philosophies, ideologies, knowledge systems, and methodologies are the foundation of the Indigenous Social Work (INSW) Program. Our communal belief in Indigenous self-determination and our respect for the strengths of Indigenous cultures maintain our commitment to ensuring that we, as faculty, administration, and support staff, continue to develop, research, share, and fully honour this foundation.
