FNUniv Wiseman Mathematics Contest Announce the Winners for 2022

The Wiseman Mathematics Contest has announced the winners for 2022. The Wiseman Mathematics Contest was initiated by the First Nations University of Canada faculty member Dr. Arzu Sardarli in 2008. PromoScience, a program within the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), has supported the program’s start-up. Since then, thousands of First Nations students in grades 4 to 6 across Canada have participated. The Contest’s purpose is to motivate young students in First Nations schools in Saskatchewan and other provinces to learn Mathematics in a competitive environment.

The 1st Place winners of the 2022 Contest also received book awards. The following schools received Elder Ken Goodwill Memorial Certificates for the best performance:

Grade 4: Senpaq’cin School, Osoyoos Indian Band, BC

Grade 5: Moosomin School, Moosomin First Nation, SK., and Mihtatakaw Sipiy School, Driftpile Cree Nation, AB

Grade 6: Eagleview Middle School, Onion Lake Cree Nation, SK
