Direct Messaging

Introduction

Direct messaging is an emerging tool being used by employees to communicate with one another more quickly as well as to prevent having to send unnecessary emails and cluttering up email inboxes. It is especially important in remote working conditions and with employees working on geographically distant campuses, where walking down the hall to ask a quick question is not possible.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to:

1. Outline expectations for direct messaging platform use for FNUniv employees

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of FNUniv.

Policy Statements

The policy states the following:

1. The preferred means of direct messaging within FNUniv is Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is pre-installed on all corporate computers and is therefore accessible to all employees.
2. To ensure the same level of accessibility to all employees through direct messaging, all employees are required to sign into Microsoft Teams at the beginning of each day.

Consequences for Noncompliance

Failure to comply with this policy and any related procedures could result in investigation and, in some cases, disciplinary measures.
