Chief Jonathan Pasap was appointed Chief of White Bear First Nations in June 2023 and joined the First Nations University of Canada Board of Governors in May 2024. Prior to his leadership role, he built a distinguished career with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), where he served for over 15 years in progressive management roles across several SIGA casinos. His most recent position was Region East Regional General Manager, overseeing operations at Dakota Dunes Casino, Painted Hand Casino, and Bear Claw Casino.
During his tenure with SIGA, Chief Pasap successfully aligned regional operations with corporate strategy to drive revenue growth, implement cost containment initiatives, and strengthen employee engagement. His earlier leadership experience includes serving as Operations Manager at Northern Lights Casino, Senior Operations Manager at Living Sky Casino, and General Manager at both Painted Hand Casino and Bear Claw Casino.
Chief Pasap holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the First Nations University of Canada and is a graduate of the Tribal Leaders Program at Harvard Business School.
As Chief of White Bear First Nations, he has led the development of a comprehensive five-year strategic plan centered on treaty protection, nation building, and sustainable economic growth. His leadership emphasizes collaboration with all levels of government, industry partners, and neighbouring First Nations, while maintaining an ongoing commitment to community engagement and transparency with White Bear citizens.
