Kacheena Naytowhow

Chair, Audit, Finance and Risk (AFR) Committee

Kacheena Naytowhow is from Cowessess First Nation and serves as Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of the First Nations University of Canada Board of Governors.

Kacheena currently works with the Stoney Nakoda Nations. Her background includes work with Indigenous organizations and initiatives focused on community well-being, representation, and self-determined approaches to governance and service delivery. She also brings governance experience from her service with Chief Redbear Children’s Lodge at Cowessess First Nation.

Kacheena holds an MBA in Indigenous Leadership and Business from Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Okanagan College, and a Diploma in Management from the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. Her education and experience contribute to the Board’s responsibilities for financial stewardship, risk oversight, institutional strategy, and accountability.

As Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, Kacheena supports the Board’s oversight of financial reporting, audit processes, risk management, internal controls, budgets, insurance, and related governance matters. Her service reflects a commitment to First Nations education, responsible governance, and the advancement of FNUniv’s mandate to uphold the Inherent and Treaty right to education.
